[vc_row][vc_column][vc_wp_text]The technical term for a traffic ticket is a uniform traffic citation. Some tickets are handwritten on a yellow slip, but many will appear as they do in the photo on the right– as a white printout that is printed at the scene. Regardless of whether the Florida uniform traffic citation you receive is handwritten or printed, they both serve as a notice that you violated a law. Within 30 days, you must decide how you wish to proceed.
Your Options:
- Pay the fine and accept the point penalty for the offense
- Pay the fine and elect traffic school to prevent points from being assessed against your driving record
- Elect a court hearing and contest the violation
